Wood Based Powdered
Activated Carbon
The industry standard for decolorization. Highest methylene blue value among all PAC types.
Product Overview
Wood-based powdered activated carbon is the most widely used PAC for decolorization applications worldwide. Produced through phosphoric acid activation of sawdust, it develops an exceptionally high mesopore volume that efficiently adsorbs large color molecules, pigments, and organic impurities.
With methylene blue values reaching 280 mg/g — the highest among all activated carbon types — wood PAC is the undisputed choice for sugar refining, pharmaceutical purification, and food-grade decolorization processes.
Key Applications
- Sugar & glucose decolorization
- MSG & amino acid purification
- Pharmaceutical API purification
- Citric acid decolorization
- Wine & spirits clarification
- Vegetable oil refining
- Starch syrup processing
- Chemical intermediate purification
