Wood based granular activated carbon
Eco-Grade

Wood Based Granular
Activated Carbon

High mesopore volume from sustainable wood materials. Superior decolorization performance for industrial applications.

Product Overview

Wood-based granular activated carbon is produced from sustainable wood materials through phosphoric acid activation or steam activation. It features a well-developed mesopore structure (pore diameter 2-50nm), providing excellent adsorption capacity for large organic molecules and superior decolorization performance.

The high mesopore volume makes wood-based GAC particularly effective for decolorization applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries where large molecular weight compounds need to be removed.

Key Applications

  • Chemical decolorization
  • Pharmaceutical purification
  • Sugar refining
  • Oil & fat decolorization
  • Organic solvent recovery
  • Catalyst support
  • Electroplating wastewater
  • Textile dye removal

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes wood-based GAC different?
Wood-based GAC has the highest mesopore volume (2-50nm pores) among all carbon types, giving it superior capacity for adsorbing large organic molecules like dyes, pigments, and color bodies.
What is it best used for?
Chemical decolorization, pharmaceutical purification, textile dye removal, electroplating wastewater, and applications where large-molecule adsorption is the primary requirement.
Is wood carbon sustainable?
Yes, our wood carbon is produced from sustainably sourced sawdust and wood chips — byproducts of the timber industry. This makes it an environmentally responsible choice.
What activation method is used?
Both phosphoric acid and steam activation. Phosphoric acid produces higher mesopore volume (better decolorization). Steam activation produces more micropores (better general adsorption).
What is the MOQ?
MOQ is 3 tons. Free samples available for testing. Standard delivery 7-10 days.
