6×12 Coconut Shell Carbon
for Gold Recovery

Engineered for CIL/CIP gold extraction. Maximum hardness, minimum attrition, optimized gold loading kinetics. Trusted by mines across Africa and Southeast Asia.

Why 6×12 Mesh for Gold Mines

In CIL and CIP circuits, activated carbon must survive constant abrasion from ore slurry while maintaining rapid gold adsorption. The 6×12 mesh size (1.70–3.35 mm) is the proven sweet spot: large enough for efficient screening on carbon safety screens, yet small enough for fast gold loading kinetics.

Our coconut shell 6×12 gold grade is steam-activated at 900–1000°C to develop a micropore-dominant structure ideal for gold cyanide complex adsorption. The high hardness (≥98.5%) comes from selecting only mature coconut shells and precise carbonization control — reducing attrition losses in your circuit and maximizing gold recovery per tonne of carbon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why 6×12 mesh for gold recovery?
6×12 mesh is the global industry standard for CIL/CIP processes. The particle size balances gold loading kinetics (smaller particles load faster) with screening efficiency (larger particles separate easily from ore slurry). Too fine and you lose carbon through screens; too coarse and loading is slow.
What hardness is required for gold recovery carbon?
Minimum 95% ball pan hardness is acceptable, but 98.5%+ is preferred for aggressive CIL circuits. Higher hardness means less carbon attrition in the abrasive slurry, reducing carbon losses and gold locked in fines. Our standard grade meets ≥98.5%.
How does your gold recovery carbon compare to Haycarb or Jacobi?
Our 6×12 gold grade is manufactured to match or exceed international specifications. We supply to mines in Ghana, Tanzania, Sudan, and Indonesia that previously used Haycarb GoldSorb or Jacobi GoldPRO. Request a TDS for side-by-side parameter comparison.
What is the typical service life in a CIL plant?
With proper kiln reactivation, coconut shell 6×12 carbon lasts 12–18 months in a typical CIL circuit before replacement is needed. Attrition losses of 30–50 g/t ore are normal. Higher hardness carbon reduces these losses.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ is 5 tons for gold recovery grade (standard specifications). Lead time is 10–15 days. We can provide 50 kg samples for plant trials at no charge.
